About Us

Gary Boarman began Lake James Custom Homes, LLC, at Lake James to fulfill his passion of constructing the finest mountain lake homes and his dream for his family's final destination. As a third generation builder, Gary has grown up working within or managing construction most of his life. From mixing mortar and carrying block at age seven, framing and trimming homes as a teenager, through starting his own homebuilding corporation at age twenty-six, building has been a lifetime commitment.

Having been involved in the building of hundreds of homes over the years has provided him with experience in log, timber framed, hybrid timber framed and conventional construction methods. Whether your plan is a small lakeside cottage or a family compound, LJCH can provide the expertise to assist you in bringing your dream to fruition.

LJCH believes that quality is not only built into the construction of the home, but also into the process, customer experience and relationship. "We are proud to say that our staff live and work in the neighborhoods in which we build. Our relationship with our clients is the best part of our job."
